Mark brings a wealth of industry knowledge to Rangeford with more than 25 years' involvement in the healthcare sector. He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford, and qualified in medicine in 1980. After working in hospital medicine for three years he returned to Magdalen College to take up a Research Fellowship and completed a PhD in the epidemiology of testicular cancer in 1985. From 1986 he spent 11 years as a Principal in General Practice in Bath where he led one of the largest “first wave” fundholding practices. Having retired as a General Practitioner in 1997 he co-founded a legal services business which was floated on the London Stock Exchange later that year, eventually becoming Chief Executive. In 2003 he co-founded the business now known as Assura Group PLC, which owns and manages primary care properties and, more recently, has undertaken a range of Non-Executive roles including being the current Deputy Chairman of Allied Healthcare, the UK’s leading domiciliary care provider.
